RYT500 ~ RPYT

I grew up dancing and always struggled with my hamstrings. They. Were. Tight. By the time I made it to college, I had given up dancing other than what was necessary to get by at auditions. I was studying musical-theatre at Arizona State University and thought taking ballet to fulfill my dance credits would be a cinch... my hamstrings didn't agree. I had a hunch Yoga might be the answer and a means to an end. Straightaway, everything about the discipline resonated with me and sparked a desire to investigate further. Over the course of those four years I began to practice consistently and became increasingly convinced of the depth and breadth of these ancient teachings. Though I had no idea how Yoga would continue to impact my life, I suspected it would become a lifelong study.

I am a Phoenix native, but over the last fifteen years I've lived in LA and NYC pursuing a career in singing, acting and dancing. While working in theatre is fun and invigorating, it can also be incredibly demanding and all-consuming. I needed an outlet and found myself returning to Yoga. The real impulse to start teaching occurred about eight years ago when I was doing a show in Los Angeles. The plan was to move to New York immediately following the run of the show, but I had this nagging feeling that I needed to shift gears for a while. So, I decided to take my Yoga practice to the next level and immerse myself in a teacher training program before relocating to the East Coast.

While on the West Coast, I studied with many inspiring teachers who transformed my practice: Annie Carpenter, Patti Quintero, Joan Hyman and Carmen Fitzgibbon. While living in NYC, I became a dedicated student of the Ashtanga Yoga method (AYNY with Eddie & Jocelyne Stern and Pure Yoga with David Hollander), and took in as many workshops as possible (Chuck Miller, Kino McGregor, Tim Feldmann, Seane Corn, Vinnie Marino, Matt Giordano and Patrick Beach to name a few).

I received my 200-hour RYT certification through YogaWorks at the Center for Yoga in LA in 2011 and completed my 500-hour RYT certification with  Annie Carpenter (SmartFLOW) at Exhale in Venice, CA in 2015.

Of all the experiences in my life, motherhood has been the most inspiring and revealing. Naturally it has influenced my practice and my approach to teaching. Yoga was the most powerful tool throughout my pregnancy, labor and is now serving me on my postpartum journey. I gave birth to my beautiful daughter, Eve, on January 2, 2017 and have felt a strong calling to offer this beautiful practice to women during this transformational time ever since. I completed my pre/postnatal teacher training (RPYT) with Patti Quintero (UMA) at YogaWorks Playa Vista in 2017.

I believe Yoga can be an enjoyable way to exercise and maintain a healthy body, a disciplined path of self-study, and everything in between. For me, Yoga has been a source of strength, peace, inspiration and balance which I hope to share. My intention is to give students a well-rounded, strong, invigorating, and most importantly safe practice.
